NIH uses the NIH Federated Identity Service to provide authorized users from HHS, affiliated Research Organizations and Universities, with access to courses in this portal using their own government or organizational credentials.


1. I am a HHS or NIH user, how can I log in?

  1. Select NIH (National Institutes of Health) as your account type from the drop down menu in 'Find my login server' on NIAID Science Forum Login Page.
  2. You may log in using your PIV card or with your username/password combination that you use to access your HHS desktop computer.
  3. If you use your username/password you DO NOT need to enter the domain (i.e., NIH\) in front of your username

 *Browser requirements for HHS users:

  • Windows users please use Internet Explorer 11
  • Mac users please use Safari and attempt to login using your PIV card; if that fails, log in using your network username and password.


2. I am a non-NIH user, how can I log in?


Research Organizations 

Non-NIH users affiliated with an organization that participates in the federated login program with the Federal Bridge may log in using an existing institution username and password. These institutions include many universities and research organizations.

  1. Select your University/Research Orgnazation as your Account Type from the dropdown menu in 'Find my login server' on NIAID Science Forum Login Page..
  2. Choose your Research Organization and log in using your existing username and password for that organization.
  3. If your Research Organization is not listed, please contact us at lsr@niaid.nih.gov to have it added to the list.
